I’ll be teaching a few mending classes at Beetle and Fred this winter! Two for adults, and one for teens!
Sweater Mending — Learn 4 basic mends so you can keep your sweaters in circulation! We’ll be making a mending sampler in class, closing small holes, patching, darning, and duplicate stitching! Plus, if you bring a (clean! no moths, plz!) sweater with you, at the end of class we can look at the sweater together and I’ll help you make a mending plan and get started.
THIS WEEKEND! Sun Jan 26th 2pm to 5pm
Sock Darning — Bring a sock and fix it while you learn how to darn. This is a more indepth class on darning - since socks have the complication of being rounded in all the places we are trying to fix. And socks are great to learn on since no one will see your first attempts or mistakes. Saturday February 8th, 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM
And! My first Beacon class for teens:
Embellishment 101 for Teens — Make your clothes more awesome! Learn how to add patches, sequins, and embroidery to your garments. We’ll be sewing by hand, in ways that you can repeat at home. You can use these techniques to cover up logos or stains, add sparkle to your hat, or personalize your wardrobe. President’s Day, Monday February 17th, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Also - if are interested in a class on embellishment for adults, let me know! Maybe we can add that for the spring.
