What if there was a creativity tracker like my fitness band…
It would take the average of every goal that I set, and insist that the way to get 60 minutes of flow each week is to hit your 8.5 minutes of flow per day. And double points if your flow overlaps with your creative play. And then it can give me a score based on its proprietary algorithm telling me how creative I am on a scale of 1-100.
Could it tell me if i was in flow and how long? Because monitoring yourself for immersion basically prevents you from entering flow, right? And how about creative play - when I am coming up with a clever dinner plan based on the dregs of the last grocery trip, I feel electrified. But most other cooking (at least in this moment in life) feels rote and mostly like I am running behind (because everyone is hungry and, wow, its time to clear the counter). So, do you count the whole time spent preparing a creative meal? Or just the moment of inspiration and idea generation?
How can I measure it? What do I put in my habit tracker? How do I know if I am winning?
Maybe it could also tell me, with an Artist’s Way extension pack, if I achieved an artist’s date this week, because I am always rather fuzzy on that.
