Plus and Minus

Actually, just a whole lot of pluses

I got a little fixated on English paper piecing last month—carrying my project everywhere and stitching for just a little bit longer at night, in bed. I started with no plan, only a color pallate: A rainbow of greens, with gold accent.

I enjoyed the feeling of success every time I finished a plus. Little wins!

I spent two weeks itching to baste or stitch one more piece, and just tried to get as many done as I could, knowing that the fever would dissipate soon enough. And now I haven’t stitched any in over a week… so phase two begins when I try to figure out what I will make with all of these. I don’t have enough for a quilt, but I have some ideas…

Its also very satisfying when they fit together so perfectly! Much better than I could do in the usual way of patchwork, and I didn’t measure a thing!
