I love the excuse that fishing gives us to wander up and down creeks. This fall we have continued to fish and explore and its been so beautiful. It has also been cold, unexpectedly windy, the water level has dropped way down, and I have had to carry heavy buckets over rocky terrain because “its fun” or so I try to remind myself. We keep quoting a Patrick F. McManus title, “What a fine and pleasant misery!” Arriving back at the car, or shore, feels like a victory. And nostalgia gives it that extra shine. Maybe we’ll go again tomorrow.
And a bonus photo: the tiniest little turtle!
