To Dye For.
Or, a future raspberry beret?
These are my current obsession.
I have been dyeing yarn for a few weeks now as I try to figure out how to sell the rest of my gray yarn. This is a batch of my own yarn (from my sheep) that had a little mishap at the mill and all the white and brown fleeces got blended together to make one single gray colorway. Its a lovely color, but there is only so many gray sweaters a person needs. Somehow its very hard to find colors that go well with it (maybe because its looks gray in some lights and brown in others), limiting project options as well.
With some experiments, I have discovered that I picks up dye beautifully and the gray base gives it a moody depth. And now I canβt stop! These is the most recent experiment: a red to blue gradient, and I simultaneously dyed a gray miniskein and a oatmeal colored base (this is an earlier batch of my yarn, mostly white fleece with 10% brown wool blended in).

I have some yarn available at Beetle & Fred in Beacon, NY, but I think there will have to be an Etsy shop or something soon β because there is a lot of yarn.
