The last & only time I knit with mohair, it was a costly frog. I just went and bought a whole sweater’s worth of yarn with only a hazy idea (I have searched for half an hour and still can’t tell you what the sweater pattern was). And this baby blue cardigan hit some bumps and I realized that I could barely see the stitches, and fixing mistakes or even finding them was pretty unlikely. It was abandoned, and eventually unraveled. I felt so sulky about it all that I passed on the yarn to a friend.
Six years later, I feel ready to take another go at mohair. I want a fuzzy sweater (but not TOO fuzzy). And this time I swatched, and I swatched hard. Final decision is gold mohair held together with Rocket Sheep Woolens in Oatmeal (bottom stripe in the brown-ish swatch)

What I am making? An Astrid.
